About Glacier View Lodge

Celebrating our seniors, one step at a time!


Glacier View Lodge is home to 101 people, largely seniors, needing 24 hr. professional health care. We also support seniors & caregivers living in the Comox Valley through Adult Day Program, Respite, and Community Bathing.


We respect our residents and clients by actively listening & endeavoring to put their wishes first.


Glacier View Lodge…Feels like home


Funds raised this year will be allocated to the Music Therapy program and to the Dream of providing Affordable Housing on Glacier View Lodge’s large, picturesque property on Back Road.

Event Day Details

Comox Marina Park

127 Port Augusta St, Comox, B.C.

Start and finish is at the Marina Park in Comox and includes a stroll through the beautiful Filberg Park.


The walk begins in the Marina Park proceeds north on Port Augusta Rd., crossing Beaufort Ave., turning right (east) walking on the sidewalk turning left (north) on Stewart St., crossing Stewart St., at Comox Ave., proceeding east on Comox Ave., to the entrance of Filberg Park. The walk makes a short loop in the Park.


The return route is back tracking on the same roads to the end at the Comox Marina Park.

Schedule

  • 10:00 am: Meet Check-in opens
  • 11:00 am: Move Opening remarks + send-off
  • 12:00 pm: Munch Light meal served
  • 1:00 pm: Mosey Go Home

Check-in

  • All walkers check-in personally at the event on Saturday, September 17, 2022.
  • T-shirts! Fundraising walkers who raise $150+ (or $75+ for those under 18) will receive a TGP shirt as a thank you on Event Day, while supplies last.
  • There is no registration fee to participate in The Grand Parade, but most walkers raise $250-300 or more in support of their charity.
  • No money or cheques will be processed at check-in.

Can't join us on event day?

If you have a conflict, we hope you'll join us by fundraising and walking on your own.

Waivers

All participants should register online and accept the electronic waiver.

  • Adults: When you register online, you will automatically accept an electronic waiver, which is all that is needed for adults.
  • Youth/Children: If you have youth or children on your team, they will need to have their parent or guardian sign a printed paper waiver.
  • Waivers will be available at check-in on Event Day.

Route Details

  • Route Distances: We have a great route where you can walk 2.5 km or 5 km with us.
  • Rest Stop: There will be one rest stop with yummy snacks and drinks.
  • Signage: The route will be well-signed with our bold burgundy TGP signs.
  • Route Support: Route marshals and rest stop hosts will provide support along the route.
  • 12 and Under walkers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

What to Bring

A few common sense suggestions:

  • A cell phone for emergencies (recommended but not required)
  • Good shoes for walking
  • Extra snacks if you have allergies or food sensitivities
  • Your own water bottle
  • A passion for the charity you're walking and fundraising for
