About Senior Support Society

The focus of Comox Valley Senior Support Society is on providing non-medical and non-clinical supports and programs for vulnerable seniors.

We help to alleviate social isolation and loneliness, provide support for caregivers, and help seniors to gain access to information and resources. The majority of our front line work is done by an amazing and dedicated group of volunteers, most of them seniors themselves. This work is supported by two part time staff.

We are a proud co-host of The Grand Parade 2019 in the Comox Valley. We are walking to highlight the incredible strengths, abilities and resources that senior volunteers bring to a community. We are walking to heighten the profile of senior serving organizations. We are walking to highlight the needs of elders who are living with challenging situations and who need some extra supports to cope better.

Join TGP 2019. Help us to help them!

About Glacier View Lodge

Glacier View Lodge is home to 101 people, largely seniors, needing 24 hr. professional health care. We also support seniors & caregivers living in the Comox Valley through Adult Day Program, Respite, and Community Bathing. Like the CV Senior Support Team, we strive to eliminate loneliness, helplessness and boredom for those who live with us or attend our outreach programs.

Glacier View Lodge is thrilled to be partnering with the CV Senior Support Program in this 1st annual Grand Parade to raise awareness of the needs of seniors.

Our bathing room serves both residents and community clients who need a relaxing and safe way to bathe. We have three different styles of tubs, enabling us to support people with different physical needs.

Three years ago the community helped us to replace one of our specialty tubs; this year we need to replace another. Please help us to help our seniors!
