The Grand Parade is a family-friendly fundraiser walk that helps support local charities who provide essential care and service for aging Canadians. Team up, walk, and fundraise with us on Saturday, September 17, 2022!
The Near North Palliative Care Network (NNPCN) is a registered charity in Northeastern Ontario, serving the area since 1987. As the Volunteer Visiting Hospice of Nipissing/Parry Sound Districts, the organization provides one-stop services free of charge, face-to-face and online. Our main services include: Palliative Care Visiting Hospice, Caregiver’s Respite and Support, Bereavement and Grief Support Sessions (individual and group), Training and Education for all aspects of ageing and end of life. The NNPCN offers phone and teleconference visits to combat social isolation of seniors, especially those from vulnerable sectors. Additionally, the NNPCN has programs for seniors that include educational seminars, recreational activities, and social gatherings.
The NNPCN is the Chair of the Palliative Care Interdisciplinary Education Funding (PCIEF) Committee, which oversees the education of frontline healthcare workers in palliative care. The PCIEF Winter Conference is a major event in the region that includes workshops and seminars from the leading experts and physicians in the field of palliative care and bereavement support.
The Start Location will be in a soccer field in Veterans Park. The Kate Pace Way is a paved walkway that borders the facility. This is where walkers will start and end their walk.
