About Ehatare

The Estonian Relief Committee in Canada is a not-for-profit charity that supports the Estonian Community both in Canada and in other countries. It is the owner and licensee of Ehatare Retirement and Nursing Home which serves the needs of the aging Estonian population. Ehatare consists of a 75-bed Retirement Home which provides independent living and assisted living, and a 30-bed Nursing Home that provides long-term care to eligible residents.

Ehatare focuses on enhancing the quality of life for its senior population. In order to maximize the potential of each individual, we endeavour to meet the assessed needs of each resident through a multidisciplinary, resident focused, preventative and restorative approach to care and services while also providing a safe, clean, well-maintained and pleasant environment for both our residents, families, employees and community.

A key part of our commitment to quality care for our Residents is a unique, high quality, and very diverse program of activities that not only connects our Residents to each other, but also to their loved ones, our local community, and many guests from Estonia. Ehatare has a long history of resident, family, and caregiver engagement and recognizes the value in their support and involvement in bettering the Home and quality of life for those who are in it.
