About Lutheran Community Care

Lutheran Community Care

Lutheran Community Care is a registered charity that provides social, developmental and spiritual services to people in the northern region of Ontario.

For over 40 years, the Care Centre has had a special focus on seniors. Our community-based Social Services for individuals and families in the Thunder Bay area offers advocacy, coordination of health care, budgeting support, supports with tasks of daily living and encouragement for greater involvement in the community.

We work to diminish of isolation of those that live alone and help seniors stay in their community-based residences. When it is time, we help seniors transition to supportive housing settings. Families too, find the transition difficult so we provide emotional support as well as information to them.

For those who do move into supportive housing, our Pastoral Care Program provides spiritual comfort and guidance to residents in eight different nursing and retirement homes.
