About Performing Arts Lodges Toronto (PAL)

Performing Arts Lodges (PAL) Toronto is a registered charity that helps performing arts professionals and affiliated industry members age-in-place. Recognizing the value these individuals add to Canadian culture and the financial challenges they often face, PAL Toronto offers affordable housing options in close partnership with the City of Toronto. This enables performing artists to continue living in the heart of our beautiful city alongside their creative community.

More than just bricks and mortar, PAL Toronto is a vibrant community. Our residents are distinguished performing artists, including recipients of prestigious awards such as the Order of Canada and the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards. At PAL Toronto, residents benefit from a supportive environment that fosters creativity and camaraderie.

PAL Toronto promotes healthy lifestyles and independence for residents aging-in-place through workshops and health services. Our full-time Health Services Coordinator assists residents with their health and social service needs, ensuring timely support while maintaining privacy and dignity. This includes the operation of PAL’s Pantry which supports those residents facing food insecurity.

PAL Toronto offers an array of facilities and activities designed to enrich the lives of its residents. Our rooftop garden is a beautiful, accessible space for socializing and gardening. The Colin Miller Library, focused on performing arts, is perfect for research and leisure. The Ken Wickes Studio is versatile for rehearsals, workshops, and exercise. The Green Room serves as a hub for social events and performances, while The Celebrity Club hosts live performances and gatherings. Each space fosters community and creativity, making PAL Toronto a vibrant place to live and thrive.
